Re: The Ducats fix |
I know beggers......
BUT - don't I notice your recent ducays are merely tdih?!
I havn't had a chance to get my fix since???? can't even remember - it was some good show you posted - a California gym from 74 if I had to stab at it
anyhoo - as you can see others appreciate the ticket.
now we need some of our sisters and brothers to help you out and post a daily ducat once in a while - or if they won't step up you'll have to teach me the link thing - the only problem is I don't know the great shows like the back of my hand the way others on here do.

Re: The Ducats fix |
Well, this IS May, a month that has a lot of good shows, in a lot of years. So the TDIH's in May feature some serious heavyweights... and make good "Daily Ducats" picks. They aren't just random TDIH shows: these are some people's favorite shows!
That being said, I'll find a non-May ducat for tmw... promise! I don't claim to know the shows like the back of my hand, but I know what I like. :)

Re: The Ducats fix |
More than happy to give this a spin - maybe more than one.
Read the reviews (always looking for pointers). Disappointed with the March 15th 2009 review knocking Keith & Donna, but it was from a 'Johnny Come Lately'. Most of the time I can do without Donna (though I do like chicks who can sit on their hair - check out that 'Egypt' DVD) but Keith - never - he was a cornerstone during that period. Usual story - 71(end)/72/73 and so on. I'll forgive him (the reviewer) 'cos he's a self-confessed "grew up in the 80's".
(Usual) High spot (for me) - the three-way rotation instrumental break during "Friend of the Devil" - Keith, Bob & Jerry taking it in turn from level 1 to level 2 to level 3. OK, compared to the (bluegrass/American Beauty) original, the chorus is a bit clumsy but that instrumental section in the middle makes it all worthwhile.
Can't wait for the "Eyes of the World".
Keep up the good work (providing pointers to better than average shows) - saves me having to click on TDIH and find them myself !!!!!
PS Going back to Donna's hair - I remember a lovely (Daliguana?) cover - Jerry in psychedelic embroidered jacket, Bob looking cool and Donna in a red dress with hair down to her ankles (doing what she does best - eye candy!). Know the one ?

Re: The Ducats fix |
I don't know that pic...but i want to! ;-)
Just reporting back, because I listened to the Eyes and it was faboo. That whole second set is fine, but the Eyes was a standout, especially the jam between the first and second verses (my favorite part of Eyes, and one way I judge whether or not I like a version)... Mickey even left out the cowbell, bless 'im!
